Privacy Policy
Effective: May 29, 2026 · Last updated: July 12, 2026
Pacey collects the information needed to run your account, turn your photos into listings with AI, and show you a marketplace. We don't sell your data, we don't use advertising trackers, and you can delete your account and your data at any time from inside the app.
This document was prepared based on Pacey's product and operational practices as of May 29, 2026. We recommend reviewing it with legal counsel before relying on it for any specific legal matter. For questions, contact [email protected].
This Privacy Policy explains how Pacey ("Pacey", "we", "us", or "our"), operated by One Take Agency LLC, collects, uses, and protects information when you use our website at trypacey.com, our web app at app.trypacey.com, our iOS app, and any related services (collectively, the "Service").
By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Information we collect
Account & profile information
- Email address, which we use to create and secure your account.
- Sign-in details. You can sign up with email and a password, with Sign in with Apple, or with Sign in with Google. When you use Apple or Google, we receive your name, email, and (for Google) profile photo from that provider. If you use Sign in with Apple and choose to hide your email, Apple gives us a private relay address instead of your real one.
- Phone number (optional). If you choose to verify a phone number, we send a one-time code by SMS through our messaging provider, Twilio, and store the number once it's verified. We use it to confirm it's really you, to power the Verified Seller trust badge, and for account or order alerts.
- Profile details you choose to add: a display name, a profile photo, and an optional bio.
- Self-reported social handles. You may optionally add your Instagram or Facebook handle to your profile. These are not verified by Pacey — we display them as you entered them.
- Push token. If you enable notifications, we store a device push token so we can send them.
Listings & content
- Photos you upload of items you want to sell.
- Listing details such as titles, descriptions, prices, category, condition, and tags.
- General location. We derive a neighborhood/area from a ZIP code you enter so buyers can see roughly where an item is. We do not collect precise GPS location.
Messages & support
- Direct messages you exchange with other users on the Service.
- Support communications. If you email [email protected], we retain that correspondence to help you.
Information collected automatically
- Device & usage data: IP address, device type, operating system, app version, and basic interaction data.
- Crash & error logs to help us diagnose and fix bugs.
- Cookies (web app only): session cookies for sign-in and a small number of preference cookies. We do not use advertising cookies.
Payment information (buyers)
- Handled by Stripe or PayPal. When you buy an item through Pacey, your payment is processed by one of our payment partners: Stripe (Apple Pay or card) or PayPal (PayPal or Venmo). Your full card, PayPal, or Venmo details go directly to that provider; Pacey never receives or stores your full card number or payment-account credentials. We keep a record of the order — the item, amounts, and payment status — to operate the purchase and support you.
Payout information (sellers)
- Handled by Stripe or PayPal. To get paid, sellers set up payouts through Stripe or by providing a PayPal account. Stripe collects and stores your financial and identity details — your bank account or debit card, and any government ID Stripe needs to verify you. If you choose PayPal, your payout is sent to your PayPal email address. Pacey never receives or stores your full bank, card, or ID numbers; that information lives only with Stripe or PayPal.
- What Pacey stores. We keep your Stripe account identifier or PayPal payout email, whether your payout setup is complete, and records of completed sales — the amount, the Pacey commission, and the net paid to you. We use these to pay you, calculate our fee, and show your sales history.
Shipping information (orders)
- Addresses for shipped orders. When an item is bought and shipped through Pacey, we collect the buyer's delivery address and the seller's return address, plus the package details, so we can create a shipping label and track the package. We share these with our shipping partner Shippo and the carrier (e.g. USPS, UPS, or FedEx). We store the addresses, tracking number, and shipping status with the order.
- Order emails. We send order confirmation, shipping, and delivery emails to the buyer and seller through our email provider Resend.
2. What we don't collect
To be clear about the boundaries of the Service:
- No raw financial details. Your card, bank, and government-ID details are collected and stored by Stripe, not by Pacey. We never see or store your full card number, bank account number, or ID document.
- No precise location. We use a ZIP code you provide and the shipping addresses you enter for an order — not device GPS.
- No advertising or cross-app tracking. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
3. How we use information
- To create, operate, and secure your account
- To publish your listings and run the marketplace
- To generate AI listing suggestions from the photos and text you provide (see Section 4)
- To enable direct messages between you and other users
- To send push notifications you've enabled, and account & security emails (for example, sign-in and password messages)
- To show eBay listings and maintain affiliate links (see Section 6)
- To process buyer payments through Stripe, set up seller payouts, calculate and collect the Pacey commission, hold payment until delivery, and pay sellers
- To create shipping labels and track packages for orders shipped through Pacey (using your delivery/return addresses and our partner Shippo), and to send order, shipping, and delivery emails
- To verify your email and phone, confirm seller identity (through Stripe), and award or maintain the Verified Seller badge
- To provide support, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms
- To debug, improve, and maintain the Service
- To comply with legal obligations
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers for cross-app tracking or targeted advertising.
4. AI processing of your content
When you create a listing, the photos and text you provide are sent to our AI providers — Google (the Gemini API) and OpenAI — to generate suggested titles, descriptions, prices, and tags. We send only what's needed to generate that content.
- AI output is a suggestion. You should review it for accuracy before publishing, and you are responsible for what you list (see our Terms of Service).
- These providers process the content under their own privacy and data-use terms, linked in Section 5.
5. Third-party services we use
To run the Service, we share specific information with the following providers under their own privacy policies:
- Supabase (United States) — database, authentication, file storage, and notification delivery (privacy policy)
- Stripe (United States) — buyer payment processing, seller payouts, and identity verification for sellers. The financial and ID details you enter go directly to Stripe, which acts as the controller of that information (privacy policy)
- PayPal (United States) — buyer payment processing via PayPal and Venmo, and seller payouts to a PayPal account. The payment details you enter go directly to PayPal, which acts as the controller of that information (privacy policy)
- Shippo (United States) — creates shipping labels and tracking for orders shipped through Pacey; we share the buyer's delivery address, the seller's return address, and package details (privacy policy). The carrier you ship with (e.g. USPS, UPS, or FedEx) also receives the address and package details to deliver the item.
- Resend (United States) — sends transactional order emails (confirmation, shipping, delivery) to buyers and sellers (privacy policy)
- Twilio (United States) — sends the SMS one-time codes used to verify your phone number (privacy policy)
- Google — Sign in with Google for authentication, and the Gemini API for AI listing generation (privacy policy)
- OpenAI — AI processing of listing photos and text (privacy policy)
- Apple — Sign in with Apple, push notification delivery, and App Store distribution (privacy policy)
- Expo — delivers push notifications to your device (privacy policy)
- eBay — we use eBay's Browse API to show eBay listings, and the eBay Partner Network for affiliate links (privacy policy)
- Cloudflare — hosting, content delivery, and security for our website and web app (privacy policy)
We may also disclose information when required by law, to enforce our Terms, to protect the safety and rights of users or the public, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (with notice where required).
6. eBay listings & affiliate links
The marketplace combines your own listings, Pacey listings, and live listings from eBay. When eBay results are shown, your search terms are sent to eBay's Browse API to fetch matching items. If you tap an eBay listing, you're taken to eBay through an affiliate link (eBay Partner Network); if you make a purchase, Pacey may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. Pacey does not receive your eBay account details or purchase history.
7. Data retention & account deletion
We keep your account and content for as long as your account is active.
You can delete your account at any time inside the app — open your profile and tap Delete account. Deletion is permanent and removes your profile, listings, messages, reactions, saved items, and follows. We may retain limited information after deletion only where the law requires, or as needed to resolve disputes, prevent fraud, or enforce our Terms — and we delete or de-identify it when it is no longer needed.
8. Your privacy rights
- Access & portability. You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction. You can update your profile information at any time inside the app.
- Deletion. You can delete your account in the app, or email us to request deletion.
California residents (CCPA/CPRA)
If you live in California, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to request access to or deletion or correction of that information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell your personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Under California's "Shine the Light" law, we also do not share personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing.
EEA, UK & similar regions (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our processing of your personal data, and to data portability. We process your data to provide the Service (contract), to operate and secure it (legitimate interests), with your consent where required (for example, push notifications), and to meet legal obligations. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected].
9. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards — encryption in transit via HTTPS/TLS, encryption at rest in our Supabase database and storage, and role-based access controls — to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information and update our practices as we identify new risks.
10. International data transfers
Our servers and core providers are located in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the US, your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States. Where required for transfers from the EEA or UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the Standard Contractual Clauses.
11. Children's privacy
The Service is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it. Buying, selling, and receiving payouts through Pacey's payment system require you to be at least 18.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and provide notice through the app or by email at least 30 days in advance where feasible.
